Third Eye Chakra Or Ajna Chakra
Third eye chakra or Ajna chakra
The sixth chakra of intuition, insight, and spiritual connection, the third eye chakra, is introduced by Anna.
Our mystical intuition and understanding are centered in the third eye chakra. It is the sixth chakra, and it is positioned in the center of the head, level with the brows.
The chakra of intuition, self-realization, inspiration, and imagination is Ajna (the most frequent Sanskrit name). This chakra's energy allows us to perceive and understand both the inner and outer worlds. The third eye chakra, when open, brings us into the present moment, deepening spiritual connection and providing wisdom and insight.
The Sanskrit word for the third eye chakra is Ajna, which means "perceive," "command," or "beyond wisdom."
The third eye is in the center of the head, level with the middle of the brows. It's linked to the pineal gland, a tiny gland deep in the brain that secretes melatonin, which influences circadian rhythms and reproductive hormones by regulating the body's internal clock.
Emotional Body: Mystical visions, clairvoyance, the ability to observe chakras and auras, precognition, and out-of-body experiences are all related with the sixth chakra. It's here that we cultivate an impersonal mentality and separate ourselves from physical and mental illusions. This is where we can transcend our thoughts, worries, and fears to gain a deep understanding of our souls from within.
The mental body's energy contains a unique combination of facts, fears, personal experiences, and memories, which are active within the third eye. When both hemispheres of the brain are activated, they work together to help us overcome dualistic thinking.
"I can see clearly and know what I need to thrive in the world in which I choose to live," affirms the third eye chakra. I recognise and respect my actual self. I am capable of accepting reality and appreciating my surroundings."
The third eye chakra is related to the quality of light.

Stones and crystals: Amethyst and purple sapphire are purple and violet crystals that might help to balance this chakra.
Unbalanced signs
Stress in any layer of the body (physical, mental, emotional, and energetic) can lead you to stall, slow down, or go into overdrive, as we've learned in earlier chakra articles (see below).
An unwillingness to delve within and unpack anxieties is a sign of an imbalanced ajna chakra. We may be scared of accepting the truth, which veils our reasoning, of criticism and what others think of us, or of our dark side and the unknown.
Confusion, a lack of focus or purpose, and despair are all symptoms of an underactive ajna. Hallucinations and separation from the physical world can be induced by a hyperactive ajna.
Question for the chakra of the third eye:
Are you conscious of your own truth?
Do you have good vision (both externally and internally)?
Do you have any etheric connections or intuitive abilities? Do you see auras?
Are you ready to speak up for what you believe in and bring your dreams to life?
Do you know what you're here for?
How to bring your third eye chakra into balance
The third eye heightens our spiritual awareness of movement and change, as well as our understanding that both endings and beginnings have their time. It's being able to let go of old thought patterns and accept new ones. It's no longer being afraid of the unknown. There are things you can do both on and off the mat to achieve balance.
Ajna chakra yoga postures
Working on the physical brow space with asana is an excellent way to cleanse the third eye. Tightness and stagnation in the body will inevitably come to the surface when we work on it. We can achieve freedom if we can find the patience and wisdom to merely sit with it, watch it without judgment, and comprehend the deeper teachings, meanings, and connections of everything that occurs before intentionally letting it go. These focused yoga poses will help you balance this energy center:
Plough Position
Legs Up the Wall Downward Dog Lotus Pose Child's Pose
Sound vibrations, or chanttra mantras
The Kundalini bija mantra is Om. Chanting OM (pronounced AUM) activates the third eye chakra's vibrational frequency. Use your breath to vibrate the sound OM as you breathe in and out. This mantra is extremely potent and represents the essence of ultimate reality.
Gyan Mudra (Wisdom Mudra) for the sixth chakra: Sit up tall in a comfortable seated position. The wisdom and knowledge mudra promotes clarity and insight while also helping to awaken and balance the third eye chakra. Bring the tips of the thumb and first finger together to produce this mudra.
Ajna Chakra Meditations
The third eye chakra's quality is light. Discover the limitless within you and realize that it is one with everything else. Visualize light as a brilliant sphere in the space between your brows during relaxation or meditation. Imagine the light with your eyes closed. Allow it to expand and compress naturally. Send it in the direction of your imaginary horizon line. Bring it to the center of your mind. Allow the light to flood your head, body, and the area around you.
Candle gazing, or Trataka, is another approach to enhance the light within.
Incorporate the indigo color into your meditation. OM is a sound to chant. Visualize your breath as a cooling indigo ball of light illuminating your vision both inside and out as you meditate on the area between your eyes.
